Service Description

Prerequisite: A recognised massage qualification (a diploma is accepted). Course Overview: This intensive one-day course is designed for qualified massage therapists who wish to expand their skillset and become certified hot stone massage practitioners. Participants must already hold a valid massage qualification. Course Content Includes: History and origins of Hot Stone Massage Overview of various massage modalities Practical hands-on training using hot and cold stones Client observation techniques Therapeutic benefits of hot and cold stone massage Understanding the effects of stress on the body Contra-actions and contraindications Oils and mediums suitable for use Classification of hot stone massage techniques and movements Use of different stone shapes and sizes for specific body areas and concerns Basic anatomy: understanding the effects of hot stone massage on the skin, muscles, lymphatic and circulatory systems Full body massage routine covering: legs, back, neck and shoulders, arms, abdomen, chest, and face Client consultation and aftercare advice Important Information: During the course, you may be asked to both give and receive treatments for practice purposes. If you prefer not to receive the treatment or have any medical conditions such as back, neck or shoulder injuries, severe migraines, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, implanted devices, or other health concerns, please notify us when booking. Additionally, inform us of any allergies that may be triggered by the oils used during the session. Please note: We will be using a dry heater case instead of a traditional water heater for warming the stones. This method is more efficient and time-saving.
